Our Mission.

Our Purpose.

Our mission is to support the reclamation of life and facilitate health and well-being for individuals through the practice of specialized yoga.

The purpose of this organization is to offer relief and healing for those individuals facing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, and any past traumas. Supported individuals have the opportunity to change their state of mental health and reclaim their lives. They gain the ability to live their life from a more grounded and empowered perspective and to live with more freedom, purpose and joy.

The original intention of yoga 5,000 years ago was for training warriors for War. At Purple Lotus WARRIOR Yoga, we cultivate the inner warrior that lives inside of each one of us. That warrior is courageous, fierce, strong, determined, and resilient.

That warrior is YOU.

~Dedicated to all of those we have lost due to mental illness.

Our Story

On April 28, 2020 my brother took his life.

On May 20, 2021 Purple Lotus WARRIOR Yoga was established.

My name is Sharon Wheeler. I have been in the Health & Wellness industry for over sixteen years. I currently own a yoga business and I have been facilitating yoga since 2012 for individuals challenged by trauma. It took this incident for me to realize the scope of mental illness. As a matter of fact, after losing him to severe depression, I had my own experience with high anxiety, depression and unbearable grief. I could finally understand the depth of his pain, as well as the pain of others who are challenged with mental illness.

I was drawn to do something bigger than what I was already doing. To support others in their quest for improved mental health and well-being, regardless of their WHY, in a bigger, bolder version. It took my brother’s hopelessness and death for me to find the hope and courage necessary to birth Purple Lotus WARRIOR Yoga, a nonprofit organization.

Purple Lotus WARRIOR Yoga exists to support individuals seeking relief from trauma, stress, anxiety, grief, depression, PTSD and other mental health challenges.

Rather than limiting the scope of support to a single demographic, we extend the support of improved mental health and well-being to a wider base of populations. Our initial wave of support is directed towards those who serve in the fire service, military, veterans, healthcare fields, and teens (16+). Individuals have the opportunity for improved mental health and to experience life from a more grounded and empowered perspective. As a result, people are able to reclaim their lives and live with more freedom, purpose and joy.

In 2020, over 40% of adults reported having some form of mental illness. The most common form, anxiety disorders, affect over 40 million adults. Depression alone costs the nation about $210 billion annually and is the #1 disability in the world. It is said that every person will experience PTSD at some point in their lives.
